Location

A little bit of England B&B in Spain is a small, family friendly, bed and breakfast situated in the heart of the Almanzora valley, a short distance from the town of Almanzora and beside the Rio Almanzora.

There is paved road access from two directions, although the quickest route to and from the village is by rambla. (Ramblas are compacted dirt tracks on and/or beside dry river beds and are used as secondary roads.)

Several major towns, such as Albox, Arboleas, La Alfoquia, Zurgena, Albanchez, Cantoria, Olula del Rio, Vera, Huercal-Overa and Fines, are all within easy reach by car.  For the incurable bargain hunter, there is a market within half an hour’s drive every day, including Sunday.

About the area

The Almanzora valley is located in the province of Almería in the autonomous region of Andalucia.  It is the easternmost province of Andalucia and borders the Autonomous Community of Murcia to the east and Jaen and Granada to the north and west.

Much of the area is classed as semi-desert; and Europe’s only true desert, the Desierto de Tabernas is just 30 kilometres distant.

We are an easy 40-minute drive from the coastal resorts of Mojacar, Garrucha and Vera Playa and there are good road links to explore further inland, such as the thermal pool at Cela and the beautiful Embalse de Negratin, a man-made lake, just over the border in Jaen.

Locally, there are opportunities for bird watching, hill walking, shopping, wining and dining and sightseeing and we are ideally situated if you are looking for property in this area.  We are not affiliated with any estate agents.

• Fruit juice.
• Cereals as available.  Normally always Corn Flakes, Muesli and Shredded Wheat.  Others as available.
• Toast and butter with preserves.
• Eggs:  boiled, poached, fried or scrambled.
• Bacon:  Fried or griddled, back and/or streaky.
• Sausages:  Fried or griddled.
• Kippers.  Sometimes smoked haddock is also available.
• American-style breakfast pancakes with maple syrup
• Baked beans.
• Tomatoes:  fresh, fried or tinned.

Additional vegetarian options:

• Fresh fruit
• Yoghurt
• Cheese

Why are our prices so low?

Quite simply, we don’t offer facilities that have to be paid for whether you use them or not, like a pool or a garden terrace.  We provide clean, comfortable and spacious bed and breakfast accommodation, just like it says at the top.
